Congratulations to Ross Caudill for being awarded the commission of a public sculpture at Fire Station #17 in Richmond. The City of Richmond just approved this major project, which will serve as a reminder to the firemen of the community’s appreciation for their dedicated service. Layers of stainless steel compose a 10’ ring, which is reminiscent of rings in a tree or a fingerprint. 106 seed-like forms sprout from the sculpture and symbolize the 106 founding members of the original Richmond Fire Department.
Ross currently has a solo exhibition at the gallery. Please come by to view his extraordinary sculptures which include the maquette for the commission.
